Easter!

When it's Easter time at our house you have to dye some eggs. (or hands)
The only rule I have is that if you dye the eggs, you also have to eat them. Well...it's Tuesday. There are about 10 more eggs to be eaten.We started with 24, so that's not too bad.

Orange Julius

My family loves this yummy, slushy drink. Go ahead and try it. You'll be glad you did! Here is the recipe.

Orange Julius

6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate

1 cup milk

1 cup water

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

12 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in your blender. Blend for about 1 minute. Add the ice cubes a few at a time. Blend for another second or two.

*I usually double this recipe for my family.

Dessert and Cake Auction

Jessica and Lauren had a fundraiser with the YW at church a few weeks ago. They are raising money for girls camp. Here are their creations. Those who made bids were very generous!

I have no clue why Jess wanted to make a

I thought it turned out to be pretty cute.

It went for $13 dollars.

This "Chocoholic" cake went for a whopping $36!

Lauren contributed by breaking up the chocolate on top.

This is also Lauren's design. She named it "Fruity Pizzaz."
I wish we would have drizzled something on top.
Someone bought this for $25!

The Big Reveal

I would like to announce the songs that I purchased with my itunes gift card. It was so much fun! For some of you, I realize that is probably no big deal. But for me it is a huge deal. High School Talent

We had so much fun at the high school talent show the other night!

I was amazed at the confidence level of these kids. Jessica accompanied her friend singing, "To Make You Feel My Love." She was so nervous, but she did a great job. She got to play on the grand piano and was joined by a cello and violin.

The big winner of the night was a cute blond who sang "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree."(I love that song!) She was amazing. She played the guitar and the audience provided the back-up vocals. Woo Hoo...whoo hoo!(if you don't know the song, those are the back-up vocals.)It was a late night, but our whole family loved the show. I'm so proud of Jessica for being a part of it.

It's Official!

Matthew has officially become a scout! He has left his cub scout troop behind and is movin' on up. He received his webelos award at the Blue and Gold Banquet last week. It has been a little sad for Matthew to move on. There are only two 11 year old scouts. I've tried to assure him that other boys will turn 11 and join him.

Another year gone

It seems like I just had my birthday! How does time go by so fast once you start getting old. It's a strange phenomenon. My family always makes me feel so special on my birthday. I had my favorite chocolate cake, one candle,(who really wants to blow out 29 candles anyway.) and some fun gifts.

I need help buying some new music with a couple of itunes cards I received. What is some new, fun music I could get? Please suggest something my bloggy friends...
